Esparoutis is situated in the Ceou Valley just 2.km north of the village of Saint

Cybranet, and 2.5km south of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle on the Dordogne River. We are located 12km from Sarlat le Caneda

To enjoy all the sights of the valley you will need a car to get around. There are beautiful villages chateaux and gardens close by to visit as well as swimming and canoeing in the Dordogne river. There is so much to see and do.  Visit Sarlat markets, Domme village, Lascaux 4 museum at Montignac, prehistoric caves in the Vezerre valley, and Rocamadour, and  not to be missed the numerous  summer markets and music activities. The region has little or no local transport. There is local Taxi services between villages but they can be expensive.


BY TRAIN

Train Stations: The Direct train Line from Paris to Toulouse.  Souillac station is 2 hours from Toulouse, and 5 hours from Paris on the Intercity service. 

It Is just 30 mins drive to Esparoutis

Alternatively, from Paris you can take the TGV to Bordeaux St Jean station just 2 hours, and change to the Sarlat line 2h.20 mins.

AIRPORTS

Airport Brive. Vallée de la Dordogne -50 mins drive, offers limited flights in Summer mostly from UK and Amsterdam.

Bergerac Airport - 1h 20min drive, has many budget airlines from UK, Ryan air and Easy jet have 8 flights a day in summer.

Toulouse and Bordeaux airports are major international hubs, both are about 2h 50 min. drive  from the property. All Airports have Car hire  available 

 

BY CAR
DIRECTIONS – FROM PARIS


If you come by car from Paris, take the A20/E9 in the direction of Limoges.

After Limoges, continue in the direction of Brive-la Gaillarde and Toulouse. About 10km after the péage (toll booth) after Brive, take exit 55 to Sarlat and Souillac.

Follow the signs to Sarlat.

Via Vitrac port and cross the Dordogne river to Cénac, and then over the hill  D50 to Esparoutis (see local instructions below).

 

Drive through La Roque Gageac and then turn left to cross the Dordogne river to Castelnaud and in the direction of Daglan. At Pont de Cause (2km from Castelnaud) there is a crossroads. Turn left into a small road  go over a bridge over the Céou river and 

Esparoutis in front of you.

 

DIRECTIONS – LOCAL From Castlenaud

From Castelnaud: After crossing the bridge over the Dordogne into Castelnaud, continue south along the road towards St Cybranet/Daglan. At Pont de Cause (approx. 2km, first hamlet) turn left, signed ‘camping Maisoneuve’ and ‘Ferme equestre de Simon’. (Note: this left turn is opposite the larger road going right and almost hidden behind the house at the crossroads). Cross over the very narrow bridge, you will see Esparoutis across the valley in front of you. After approx. 200m veer right into the small laneway, which has a no entry sign (‘sauf riverains’, that is, except local residents). Esparoutis is signposted here. See arrival directions below.

 

Cénac to Esparoutis

From Cénac-et-Saint-Julien: Coming from the Sarlat direction, cross the bridge over the Dordogne into Cénac. Approx. 200 m after the bridge there is a 5-way intersection, turn right towards St Cybranet (D50). Follow this road out of the village. After some 250 metres there is a fork in the road, take the smaller road veering right going uphill. (This road has a sign to the Ferme Equestre de Simon and a couple of other signs.) Follow it up over the top of the hill and down the other side. all the way, It comes out at Esparoutis to the left , you will see white horse in the paddock Turn left there is a sign to Esparoutis. 100m, just after the first hedges is a stone gravel driveway you have arrived .
